A Good Bargain

I've repeatedly mentioned my infatuation with PB2.  It's not changed.  But it is a little difficult to justify paying $5.95 for a 6.5 oz jar of the stuff.  Especially when I'm going through it so quickly.  I visited the Bell Plantation website and found a 4 pack of 1# bags for $27.16 plus shipping.  That plus shipping is always the kicker... $13 for this order.  However, CME being the Amazon guru that he is, found the same stuff for $31.62 and free shipping! The cost savings is amazing.  The jars I was buying from bariatric center are $0.92/ounce.  The Bell Plantation site made it better at about $0.63/ounce.  Amazon saved us even more with it costing $0.49/ounce.  (Some body math check me, will ya?!)

So my 4-pound order of PB2 arrived today!  I cannot tell you how happy that makes me.  LoL  Some days it's the little things...

  1. Could you please share more? I LOVE peanut butter - a lifetime love of PB. I now have issues with the sugar in PB and the separation of the oil and butter can turn any stomach.

What do you do with PB2? Do you mix it into PB or add it to a smoothie? Cook with it? I think you have another blog post on this :).

    1. PB2 is missing that "sweet" taste that you taste in normal peanut butter. The consistency isn't quite as smooth either. But for me, the nutritional difference make up for that!

There are multiple ways I use it. My favorite is to reconstitute it with a little bit of water and add a mashed up banana. The banana gives it a little bit of sweetness that it doesn't have like regular peanut butter. My RD reconstitutes hers with a little bit of grape juice to add the sweetness. I also add it to smoothies, reconstitute it and eat it with a spoon (probably shouldn't admit that) and have even added it to oatmeal. The Bell Plantation website has a lot of recipes that I wouldn't mind trying. I've just been too stingy with my stash when I've bought the small jars! LoL

Missing you friend!! :( And my thyroid is off with all this stuff going on testing with my hives...still no answers, besides an elevated Sed Rate...so that might indicate osteoarthritis or something like that... nothing to cause hives. oh well.
